Thanks to a grant from Phoenixville Community Education Foundation, the 4th graders at Schuylkill were able to learn about geology and the formation of rocks! Students learned about sedimentary, igneous and metamorphic processes as well as how minerals are identified and formed. Students were able to play a game to identify the minerals that make up everyday items such as cell phones and video games! The fourth graders were especially excited to learn about Mr. and Mrs. Straka’s work as field paleontologists and seeing “Mr. Nixon,” an eight-foot Triceratops skull discovered by their team! It was so much fun and an awesome way to get ready for the PSSA’s this year! Thank you for PCEF and Dr. Renzulli for allowing us to have this show come to Schuylkill!
