Musical Tut
play

Description

For the last 7 years, Schuylkill has produced short musicals for 5th graders that have included a variety of shows.  Each year we choose a new, upbeat production for the budding actors and actresses.  Auditions are held for solos and speaking parts, but every 5th grader is invited to participate.  Students can also be a part of our crew.  These students help with the important "behind the scenes" tasks.  The students perform twice during the day for their peers, then once at night for the parents, family, and friends.

Throughout the years we’ve had a variety of volunteers help us create sets and costumes.  We couldn’t do this without our dedicated staff; the fifth grade teachers, the music teacher, art teacher, and Mrs. Albee, our costume coordinator, and the flexibility of our Schuylkill staff.  Schuylkill will kicks-off auditions in December, then hits the ground running in January for an early April show.

These musicals are a fantastic way for every child to explore his/her interest in theater.  As the students move through the schools, they are given so many opportunities to peruse their love of the arts.
