PASD offers instruction in the basic band instruments beginning in 4th grade. Initially students can choose between flute, clarinet, alto saxophone, trumpet, french horn, trombone, baritone, and percussion. Through small group instruction, students will learn the basics of sound production, instrument care, and note reading. The large ensemble experience is then introduced as the students become more adept at performing on the instrument.
Students who wish to pursue studying an instrument in PASD will be given information on how to obtain instruments directly from the instrumental music teacher in their building.
